Collaborative Research: SHF: Small: LEGAS: Learning Evolving Graphs At Scale

Description: Data management plan for the grant, "Collaborative Research: SHF: Small: LEGAS: Learning Evolving Graphs At Scale." This project aims to improve the computation efficiency of graph neural networks (GNNs), which are an emerging class of deep learning models on graphs, with many successful applications, such as, recommendation systems, drug discovery, social network analysis, and code vulnerability detection. This project aims to to design an efficient GNN framework via algorithm and system co-de… more

Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and pregnancy complications and birth outcomes: A population-based cohort study in Denmark

Description: Article describes how alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) is related to developing lung and liver disease, but no large-scale studies examine its association with birth outcomes. The authors investigated the risk of pregnancy complications and adverse birth outcomes in mothers and children with AATD.

Hedgehog signaling is involved in acquired resistance to KRASG12C inhibitors in lung cancer cells

Description: Article states that although KRASG12C inhibitors have shown promising activity in lung adenocarcinomas harboring KRASG12C, acquired resistance to these therapies eventually occurs in most patients. The authors report that the hedgehog signal is induced by KRASG12C inhibitors and mediates KRAS re-expression in cancer cells treated with a KRASG12C inhibitor.

Terahertz spectroscopy of MOFs reveals dynamic structure and contact free ultrafast photoconductivity

Description: Article describes how metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous crystalline materials, and their large pores make them particularly interesting for membranes, gas separation, and gas storage. The authors discuss how gas-MOF interactions alter the MOFs' spectral fingerprints.

Planar shock compression of spark plasma sintered B4C and B4C-TiB2 ceramic composites

Description: Article describes how blending of ceramic constituent phases enhances sinterability and performance in high strength ceramics. The authors describe how a near fully dense blended boron carbide (B4C)-titanium diboride (TiB2) composite produced through spark plasma sintering (SPS) is probed to understand the mechanical performance under dynamic uniaxial strain, or shock compression.

Time for a Pause: Without Effective Public Oversight, AI in Schools Will Do More Harm Than Good.

Description: Report discussing research related to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in school systems. The authors implore federal, state, and district policymakers to slow down and restrict the implementation of AI in schools until proper research has been completed and ethical concerns are addressed.
