The goals of this project are to collect data that will assist in determining what constitutes a representative groundwater sample in fractured shale typical of much of the geology underlying the ORR waste disposal sites, and to determine how monitoring-well construction and sampling methods impact the representativeness of the sample. Description

Currently accepted protocols were developed for porous media and are likely to result in nonrepresentative samples in fractured systems.
