A Qualitative Analysis of Intermediate Grade Teachers' Instructional Decision-Making in Reading

Description: This study described the rationales used by individual teachers in the selection of activities for reading instruction. The relationship between the teachers' conceptions of reading and factors in their present teaching environment were analyzed as influences in their rationales given. Patterns in teachers' thinking about activities representing two theoretical positions in reading were identified.

A Study of the Perception of Dissonance by Undergraduate Music Majors

Description: This study dealt with the perception of dissonance by male, female, freshman and senior music majors. A test was devised which would show that there is a significant difference in dissonance perception between freshman versus senior and male versus female music majors, utilizing specific excerpts from the musical repertoire.
