Mechanisms of Social Interaction and Virtual Connections as Strong Predictors of Wellbeing of Older Adults

Feasibility Study of Microsecond Pulsed Microwave Ablation Using a Minimally Invasive Antenna

Description: Article establishing the feasibility of producing localized ablation zones using microsecond pulsed microwave ablation (MWA) as an alternative to conventional continuous wave (CW) MWA. Results open the opportunity for developing a coupled MWA treatment and imaging system using pulsed MWA and microwave-induced thermoacoustic signals for real-time monitoring of MWA.

Numerical Simulation of Fiber Motion in the Condensing Zone of Lateral Compact Spinning with Pneumatic Groove

Description: This article creates a new fiber model to simulate the agglomeration process, to analyze yarn properties of the lateral compact spinning with pneumatic groove, and to compare with other spinning yarns through a series of tests. The experiments demonstrated that the lateral compact spinning with pneumatic groove can improve the yarn properties: increase the yarn twist, enhance the yarn strength, and reduce the yarn hairiness.

Using existing metadata standards and tools for a digital language archive: a balancing act

Description: Article discusses how building a digital language archive requires a number of steps to ensure collecting, describing, preserving and providing access to language data in effective and efficient ways. This paper introduces the reader to the background of this project and discusses some of the areas important for representing language materials where both University of North Texas Libraries (UNTL) metadata and CoRSAL metadata practices were adapted to better fit the needs of intended audiences.

Novel thin polymeric magnetic membranes study for applications in the future biomedical devices

Description: Article describes how biomedical devices such as pumping/mixing fluids, cell-culturing, and drug delivery often use different actuation methods.
