Description: Recording of Roberto Doati's Donna che si copre le arecchie per proteggersi dal rumore del tuono. This work is for flute sounds, synthetic sounds, and live electronics. This work is divided into three parts and uses many techniques: slaps, jet whistles, roaring, timbral trills, multiphonics, and tongue rams. The computer is use to modify the original sound, the flute is processed through stretching, compression, and pitch transposition.

Droptrap

Description: Recording of Werner Cee's Droptrap. The sounds used in the piece are exclusively produced by the composer's instrument for six water drops. This music has been recorded directly onto a DAT. Every object is provided with a contact microphone, thus enabling amplification of the noises produced by the drops. These are transmitted to a sound mixer and then to four signal processors.

Ear-Music

Description: Recording of László Dubrovay's Ear-Music. The piece was written for the chamber ensemble EAR. One of the 3 digital synthesizers uses its own sounds, the other 2 being modulated by an analog synthesizer. The trumpet sounds are modified in the same way using a microphone. Electroacoustic Samba II

Description: Recording of Eduardo Reck Miranda's Electroacoustic Samba II. This work belongs to a series of pieces inspired by Brazilian rhythms and popular music, known as MPB. This genre became popular with Bossa Nova in the 1970's with songs of political resistance against the military and is one of the most significant cultural manifestations of Brazil. Most of the sounds were sampled from acoustic percussion instruments, but synthesized sounds were also used.
