Akha notebook 14

Description: Handwritten notes and transcriptions of a traditional song for a dead parent. This song would be sung by the whole village when an adult dies. Notes are based on recordings of a 30 year old man training to be a phima (one who transmits and recites ritual texts). These notes were written in Lampang in preparation for fieldwork and later checked with a 38 year old speaker whose comments are included in green ink.
