Description: Handwritten notes and transcriptions of narratives and conversations about Akha social customs, ceremonies related to spirits, traditional tools and weapons, and the Akha's relations with neighboring communities like the Shan and Northern Thai. Notes are based on recordings of three Akha speakers: a 70 year old man from Doi Tung mountain, and two brothers in their late 20s.

Analytical notes on acoustic correlates of stress experiment 2

Description: These are analytical notes presenting the three-sentence mini monologues used in the "acoustic correlates of stress in Mankiyali" experiment. The token in Sentence 1 for each mini monologue is focused and therefore contains phrase-level and word-level stress. Sentence 2 sets up the context for the token in sentence 3 to be devoid of phrase-level stress, allowing word-level stress to be teased apart and analyzed.
