at North Texas State University. This is a two-year early admissions program whose
fundamental purpose is to address the problem of declining numbers of young people
choosing careers in science, mathematics, and engineering. Unusually bright high
school sophomores who are particularly talented in science and mathematics will
concurrently complete the final two years of high school and the first two years of
college in residence on the NTSU campus. At an early age these students will be
exposed to the stimulation of science and mathematics as taught and practiced by
university faculty.
