Abstract: Since 1921, the Oklahoma Historical Society has published The Chronicles of Oklahoma, a nonfiction journal focused on topics related to the history of the state. In 2020, the Oklahoma Historical Society partnered with the UNT Libraries to make the extensive Chronicles back catalog of quarterly-published issues publicly available online through the Gateway to Oklahoma History digital library. However, the scope of the project eventually expanded to include preserving individual articles in the Gateway to promote their discovery and impact for researchers. This presentation explores the project management practices, workflows, and metadata standards that were used to support the project. It also explores the challenges and highlight the successes of this multi-year preservation project.
