Best known for his twelve year-long stint as the creative director of the luxury brand Givenchy, Riccardo Tisci brought his understanding of high design to NikeLab for the 30-piece capsule collection that featured this ensemble. Addressing the needs of Nike-wearing athletes, Tisci incorporates high performance fabrics into functional garments while adding his fashion-forward perspective. Here DriFit and Flyknit materials are printed with a unique kaleidoscope print that makes use of flowers native to Oregon (the home of Nike), Italy (Tisci’s home country), and Rio de Janeiro (the location of the 2016 Olympics).
Ensemble components: a) Jacket of polyester with organic floral print on outside and kaleidescope print on interior net lining. Hooded, long sleeves with velcro closures at cuffs, raglan sleeves, welt pockets at both sides of chest and pockets with flaps at both sides of hips all secured with snap at center of opening. Drawstrings around opening of hood and at empire waist, center front closes with six snaps covering wide black plastic zipper. Black crescent-shaped inserts along back at raglan sleeve seams. Logo on left chest: Nike swoosh with R.T. and a star. b) "Shimmel" crop shirt of polyester and spandex with abstract kaleidoscope print on front and muted organic print on back. Short sleeves, rounded collar trimmed in black knit. Unlined. Logo at center back near neckline: Nike swoosh with R.T. and a star. Designer label at center neck: "Nike (with swoosh) / S P CH / Made in Sri Lanka / Fabrique au Sri Lanka" Fabric care label at left side seam.
c) Training shorts of polyester and spandex with multicolored abstract kaleidoscope print. 2.5 inch inseam, medium rise, 2 inch waistband of black elastic, gusset at crotch, center front and back seams. Logo on left hip: Nike swoosh with R.T. and a star. Label printed on inside back: "(Nike swoosh) / Dri-fit / S P CH / Made in Sri Lanka / Fabrique au Sri Lanka " Fabric care label at center back inside.
d) and e) Leg warmer sleeves of polyester and spandex in multicolored organic floral print. Seam at inside center of each sleeve, with trim of rubbery elastic around tops to keep sleeves in place. Logo near top of sleeve: Nike swoosh with R.T. and a star. Label printed on inside back: "(Nike swoosh) / Dri-fit / S P CH / Made in Sri Lanka / Fabrique au Sri Lanka " Fabric care label at side seam.
