Abstract: This study gathered information on assistive technology use by students with physical disabilities, including visual and hearing impairments, at the University of North Texas through structured interviews of participants from the Office of Disability Accommodation (ODA). Interviews involved topics such as frequently used devices, services of the ODA in terms of technology, quality of students’ training on devices, and their opinions on improving the current program. Implications of this study include the need for further research on the cost of maintaining an effective assistive technology program, programs that increase student independence and self-advocacy, as well as studies that examine the student perspective on the postsecondary institution assistive technology program.
