Corrosion and erosion/corrosion testing of gas turbine materials in the effluent from a pressurized fluidized bed coal combustor continues under the Long Term Materials Test program. Two 1000-hour erosion/corrosion screening tests of twelve candidate gas turbine vane and blade base alloys and a variety of protective coating systems have been completed. Test conditions included 1350/sup 0/F, 800 to 900 ft/s and particulate loadings of 30 to 90 ppM. Erosion/corrosion degradation rates of 1 to 4 mils/1000 hours were observed with corrosion predominant in areas of particle impaction.
