She has dark, short, and curly hair. In 1956, Carr was elected president of the Auxiliary to the Texas Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons. Mrs. Carr worked as a nurse for her husband, Dr. Jerry Owen Carr and bookkeeper for Williamson-Dickie in Fort Worth, Texas.
