Acceleration of electrons using an inverse free electron laser auto- accelerator

Description: We present data from our study of a device known as the inverse free electron laser. First, numerical simulations were performed to optimize the design parameters for an experiment that accelerates electrons in the presence of an undulator by stimulated absorption of radiation. A feasibility study of oil shale fired pulse combustors with applications to oil shale retorting

Description: The results of the experimental investigation performed to determine the feasibility of using pulverized Colorado oil shale to fuel a bench scale pulse combustor reveal that oil shale cannot sustain pulsations when used alone as fuel.
