Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Survey of the Clovis National Topographic Map, NI 13-6, Texas and New Mexico: Volume 1

Description: From objective and plan: The airborne data gathered were reduced using ground-based computer facilities to give the basic uranium, thorium and potassium equivalent gamma radiation intensities, ratios of these intensities, aircraft altitude above the earth's surface, total gamma ray and earth's magnetic field intensity, correlated as a function of geologic units indicated from available geologic maps. Results of analyses of these field data are presented as profile plots of the gamma radiation a… more

Aerial Gamma Ray and Magnetic Survey, Raton Basin Project, The Flagstaff Quadrangle of Arizona: Final Report, Volume 1

Description: From Operations: For the Flagstaff quadrangle, a total of 1930 line miles, excluding reflights and overlaps and missing data were flown by the Tracker and 1348 line miles were flown by the helicopter. The production summary presented below and the detailed daily production in Appendix B describes half of the total project. The Raton Basin Project, of which this quadrangle is a part, covered five other 10 x 2 quadrangles which was or will be covered in separate reports.

Preliminary Evaluation of the Uranium Favorability in the Area Northeast of Gunnison, Colorado

Description: Rock and stream-sediment samples were collected to define areas favorable for uranium deposits northeast of Gunnison, Colorado. Areas considered most favorable for further exploration are: (1) the Bronco Mountain area, approximately 10 mi south of Taylor Park Reservoir, (2) the area near the Big Red mine, and (3) the area 5 mi north-northeast of Taylor Park Reservoir. On the basis of known deposits in the Marshall Pass and Cochetopa districts, fault contacts between Precambrian granites and Pal… more

Results of Elemental Analyses of Water and Waterborne Sediment Samples from the Proposed Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Alaska

Description: From abstract: During July-August 1976, water and sediments were collected for the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory from streams and lakes over an area of -100 000 km2 around Kotzebue, Alaska. The sampling was by helicopter, as part of the NURE Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance (HSSR) sponsored by the US ERDA. It was done according to rigorous, but simple, written procedures, at a nominal density of one location per 23 km 2, and included the 1400- to 1900-km2 area proposed for… more
