C.A.S.

Description: Recording of Boyko Stoyanov's C.A.S. Stoyanov was inspired by the interpretation of Chopin's Op. 30, no. 1 by the Japanese pianist Rikako Akatsu, performed at the Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. In this work, the composer wanted to create a unique form, the basis of which provided by the electroacoustic music.

In the light Shadows fall

Description: Recording of Wende Bartley's, In the light shadows fall. This three movement piece features, text from Women and Nature: The Roaring Inside Her by Susan Griffin. The text fragments were recorded and improvised upon by sound poet Paul Dutton. The sounds heard feature a string quartet, recorded vocal material, a Roland S550 sampler, and sounds from a Yamaha DX7.

Les Vusions

Description: Recording of Ulrich Süsse's Les Vusions. Rabelais' ideologies and visions are musically represented in this piece. This is done by building structures and walking away from them. The structures are taken from the sound (preferably from a precise vocal) and the continuation of the language of Rabelais. There is the use of everyday normal objects, but the technique of electronic transformation demonstrate direction and transition.

Extincion

Description: Recording of Samir Menaceri's Extincion. The piece was realized with an M software from Intelligent Music and an Amiga computer. The W-30 sampler was used for the sounds of endangered animals. The inspiration for the piece is how animals provide sound richness. However, the disappearance of these species also corresponds to the disappearance of the sound richness of our planet.

In the dreamtime

Description: Recording of Joan La Barbara's In the dreamtime. This piece uses voice and speech in many different ways, which is then processed electronically and accompanied by instruments. The breath works as a rhythmic aspect and the pitch coming from the voice create harmonies, continuous patterns, and glissandos. When the piece changes in intensity or tempo, the voice usually moves quickly with a high pitch or incorporates throat sounds.

Description: Recording of Claudio Ambrosini's Il satellite sereno. This piece revisions how early electronic music utilized certain sounds. The beginning white noise is used as a time marker. Then, it closes with an unexpected minimalistic section. The marimba transforms its timbre to eventually become the white noise heard at the beginning.

Offen - Fin des terres

Description: Recording of Gerald Eckert's Offen - Fin des terres. This is a work for ensemble and tape and plays with the juxtaposing sounds of the instrumentals and electronics. The initial concept for this work came from the passing observation of a grafito in the ruins of a bunker: "FIN DES TERRES". This work was commissioned by the Ensemble Aventure under the patronage of "Stiftung Kunst und Kultur des Landes".
