Doppio solo (Neuromante)

Description: Recording of Luigi Ceccarelli's Doppio solo. It is for saxophone quartet. There is a lot of effects and contemporary technique. All the different instruments explore range, sound, different tonguing techniques, and simply using the mechanical structure and sounds. The electronic effects enhance the acoustic instruments and support the overall direction of the piece.

Description: Recording of Luigi Ceccarelli's Aracne. This work is based off of a text by Guido Barbieri and was written as a radio play. This piece was produced and created in Rome at the CRM - Centro Ricerche Musicali and at Edison Studio. It was staged for the first time at the Roman Aquarium in June 1996.

In Die Resurrectionis

Description: Recording of Luigi Ceccarelli's In Die Resurrectionis. This is an electro-acoustic installation for the basilica of San Vitale inspired by the 12th century sacred musical tradition of Ravenna. This work was commissioned by the Ravenna Festival. The composer describes this work as his exploration of the relationship between music and spirituality, using Gregorian chant and traditional choral music to emphasize this.

Icarus

Birds

Description: Recording of Luigi Ceccarelli's Birds. For bass clarinet and tape with bass clarinet and bird sounds. As the basis for this piece the composer used tremolos and repeated sounds, played by a bass clarinet with recorded birdsong. All of the sounds were elaborated digitally and edited, without fundamentally changing their natural qualities. "Birds" consists of four sections; the four parts are separated by short solos of elaborated bird song.
