Description: Recording of Elsa Justel's Mats. This piece was the subject of a State Order. The composer writes: "The voice of the erkencho has become hoarse and heartrending. It is not no longer his throat that sings, nor his flesh that quivers. It is his bone that screams. Erkencho: instrument from the Andes, made with ox horn."

Description: Recording of James Dashow's ...at other times, the distances. Quadraphonic electronic music. This work is a re-working of the electronic materials from FAR SOUNDS, BROKEN CRIES, for 12 instruments and electronic sounds. With the exception of a single cello note, the sounds were produced by the composer's MUSIC30 language for digital sound synthesis, and subsequently elaborated by additional signal processing.
