Description: Pillbox hat of black cotton(?). The cylindrical crown is mostly flattened at top, with diamond-shaped patches of same fabric attached at sides, overlapping top and bottom. Patches are outlined in black faceted beads. The hat is lined in black fabric, and has inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Designer's label inside: "Design By / d. charles"

Pillbox Hat

Description: Pillbox hat of beige and bronze velvet. The low, circular crown of bronze velvet has inter-twined bands of bronze and beige velvet around it in a draped or swagged style. At front is applied a small bow made of the two velvets. Inner hatband of beige grosgrain ribbon. Affixed to the ribbon, one at each side, is a small plastic comb to secure the hat to the wearer's hair. The hat is lined in green fabric. Glued into the crown lining is a homemade(?) hand embroidered label: "Jo Bailey Hats"

Description: Hat of white straw cloth and navy blue felt. The modified pillbox style hat has a slightly conical crown with rounded top of white straw cloth. The lower section of the crown is edged with a wide dark navy blue velvet band. Description: Hat of striped felt. The hat is formed as a "pancake beret" on a rigid, slightly curved frame. The crown is of felt with wide width-wise stripes of olive green and black. Toque

Description: Toque hat of black felt. The brimless hat has a high, cylindrical crown which is higher in front than back; and with a sunken top which is domed at center. Around the front and sides are applied wide curving bands of black satin ribbon. The front and sides are overlaid by black net veiling, which extends slightly down over wearer's face. Description: Hat of gray felt with gray beads and silver sequins. The cylindrical crown flares from lower edge to upper, and has a low domed, set in top. The surface of the hat is covered in curving, meandering lines of gray beads, enhanced by double-bands of silver sequins which form "zig-zag" motifs on sides, and around dome of crown. Front and sides of hat overlaid with short length of light gray net veil. Hat is unlined, with gray grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. No labels in hat.
