Parton Distributions and Spin-Orbital Correlations

Description: In this talk, I summarize a recent study showing that the large-x parton distributions contain important information on the quark orbital angular momentum of nucleon. This contribution could explain the conflict between the experimental data and the theory predictions for the polarized quark distributions. Future experiments at JLab shall provide further test for our predictions.

Genome-wide experimental determination of barriers to horizontal gene transfer

Description: We measure CP-violating asymmetries of neutral charmed mesons in the modes D{sup 0} {yields} K{sup -}K{sup +} and D{sup 0} {yields} {pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +} with the highest precision to date by using D{sup 0} {yields} K{sup -}{pi}{sup +} decays to correct detector asymmetries. Stirring the Embers: High-Sensitivity VLBI Observations of GRB 030329

Description: We present high-sensitivity Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations 806 days after the {gamma}-ray burst of 2003 March 29 (GRB 030329). The angular diameter of the radio afterglow is measured to be 0:347 {+-} 0:09 mas, corresponding to 0:99 {+-} 0:26 pc at the redshift of GRB 030329 (z = 0:1685).
