Corrosion of Stainless Steels in Purex Acid Concentrators

Description: The corrosion resistance of four types of austenitic stainless steels to Purex process first and second acid concentrator bottoms was determined. Although the compositions of the two solutions were very similar, tests in simulated solutions of both compositions were conducted to strengthen the basis for the conclusions which were to be made.

Material Replacement Experiments ; Theory and Measurements for the Lady Godiva Assembly

Description: The perturbation theory for material replacement experiments is given through second order thus permitting corrections for sample size. Computed flux and adjoint distribution functions are tabulated for the Lady Godiva assembly enabling the observed danger coefficients for U-238 and U-235 to be compared with corresponding predicted values. Meson Production By High-Energy Neutrons

Description: The angular distribution of charged x mesons produced by 300 <x> 30 Mev neutrons on C12 and Be9 have been studied. An analysis of the kinematics for meson production in a nucleon-nucleon collision indicates a fairly well defined center-of-mass system.
