In the interaction region of the SLC, the information of beam position monitors (BPM) is used to get crucial information on the beam parameters, like the position, the inclination, or the deflection of the beams at the interaction point. The information is usually extracted from the BPM readings by fitting orbits, using the known twiss parameters at the BPM positions.
