Appendix: Production Test IP-353-A, rapid depressurization of a KER loop

CERENKOV AND SCINTILLATION PROPERTIES OF PLEXIGLAS UVT AND UVA

Description: The scintillation and Cherenkov properties of UVA (ultraviolet absorbing) and UVT (ultraviolet transmitting) Plexiglas specimens were tested by analyzing cosmic-rayinduced pulses traversing the materials. It was found that the UVT sample has less than 1/6 the scintillation effect of UVA and is preferred for use in counters. (J.R.D.)

Description: A study was conducted to determine the adequacy of silver metaphosphate glass as a dosimeter for gamma radiation coexistent with fast neutrons. The fast-neutron response in the energy region encompassing a major pcrtion of the fission spectrum was determined and a method of decreasing the photon-energy dependence was developed. Investigation of the Technical Feasibility of Cold Extrusion for Zircaloy-2 Tubing Production. Technical Progress Report

Description: The feasibility of cold extrusion for Zircaloy-2 tube production was studied and the basic feasibility of cold extruding Zircaloy-2 was indicated. Lubrication systems, composed of a lubricant and a conversion coating, were developed and evaluated for the current application.
