Permeability damage to natural fractures caused by fracturing fluid polymers

Description: Formation damage studies using artificially fractured, low-permeability sandstone cores indicate that viscosified fracturing fluids can severely restrict gas flow through these types of narrow fractures. These studies were performed in support of the Department of Energy's Multiwell Experiment (MWX). Extensive geological and production evaluations at the MWX site indicate that the presence of a natural fracture system is largely responsible for unstimulated gas production. The solar flare of 18 August 1979: Incoherent scatter radar data and photochemical model comparisons

Description: Measurements of electron density at seven D-region altidues were made with the Arecibo radar during a Class-X solar flare on 18 August 1979. Measurements of solar x-ray fluxes during the same period were available from the GOES-2 satellite (0.5 to 4 /angstrom/ and 1 to 8 /angstrom/) and from ISEE-3 (in four bands between 26 and 400 keV). Description: The effects of whole-body inhalation exposures to 1,3-butadiene on the reproductive system was evaluated. Two-photon (VUV + visible) resonance ionization spectroscopy of molecular hydrogen

Description: Two-photon transitions have been examined in molecular hydrogen using coherent vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) photons at a fixed wavelength of 118 nm and a tunable photon from a dye laser. A proposal for a precision test of the standard model by neutrino-electron scattering (Large /hacek C/erenkov Detector Project)

Description: A precision measurement of neutrino-electron elastic scattering from a beam stop neutrino source at LAMPF is proposed. The total error in sin/sup 2/theta/sub W/ is estimated to be +-0.89/percent/. Description: The present report describes the results of a study of the morphology of epididymal sperm heads of B6C3F1 mice that were exposed to varying concentrations of 1,3-butadiene. Electron irradiation effects in YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7-delta/ single crystals

Description: Defect structures in YBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 7/minus/delta/ produced by electron irradiation at 300/degree/K, were investigated by transmission electron microscopy. An examination of wake effects and power production for a group of large wind turbines
