Surface footprint from initial Chernobyl release as indicated by the meso-alpha MLAM (Multi-Layer Air Mass) model

Description: This document reports the results of dose calculations from the Chernobyl reactor accident in April 1986. The calculations were completed in 1987. The results are now being published to disseminate the information to an audience of potential users. This study's objective was to model the transport path of materials released during April 26 and 27, the first 48 hours of the accident. 5 refs., 15 figs.

Nonlinear mechanisms for drift wave saturation and induced particle transport

Soil-gas survey at the solid waste landfill - Final Report

Description: A soil-gas survey to determine the lateral distribution of chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents in the vadose zone, and possibly ground water, was conducted at the Hanford Site Solid Waste Landfill. For a 2-year period, three trenches just inside the western perimeter of the landfill had received liquid discharges of both sewage and washwater, which contained solvents. Description: Travel to the JRC Petten was for the purpose of discussing the HFR-B1 experiment and post irradiation activities. Alternatives for Disposal of Raffinate from the TRUEX Process

Description: Possible methods for disposing of the immobilized raffinate from TRUEX processing are reviewed.
