National Uranium Resource Evaluation: Richfield Quadrangle, Utah

Description: From Introduction: "The Richfield 1º x 2º Quadrangle, Utah, was evaluated to identify and delineate areas and geologic areas and geologic units that exhibit characteristics favorable for the occurrence of uranium deposits. A favorable area or environment, according to the specifications used in this study, is one that is known or is likely to have uranium deposits containing a minimum of 100 tons of U3O8 with an average grade of not less than 100 ppm U3O8."

Mining-induced seismicity at the Lucky Friday Mine: Seismic events of magnitude >2.5, 1989--1994

Description: An understanding of the types of seismic events that occur in a deep mine provides a foundation for assessing the seismic characteristics of these events and the degree to which initiation of these events can be anticipated or controlled. This study is a first step toward developing such an understanding of seismic events generated by mining in the Coeur d`Alene Mining District of northern Idaho. It is based on information developed in the course of a long-standing rock burst research effort un… more
