Description: From abstract: This abbreviated data report presents results of ground water and stream sediment reconnaissance in the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) Raleigh l x 2 quadrangle. Surface sediment samples were collected at 1199 sites. Surface water samples were collected at 124 of these sites. Ground water samples were collected at 907 sites. Water Quality of the French Broad River, North Carolina An Analysis of Data Collected at Marshall, 1958-77

Description: From introduction: This report presents the results of an investigation of the quality of water in the French Broad River at Marshall, N.C., that is based on data collected during the period 1958-77. Major objectives of the study were: (1) to define variations in water quality; (2) to determine the degree to which the quality of water in the river is affected by man's activities; and, (3) to identify past and present trends in the chemical quality of water in the river.
