The Distribution of Uranium-Vanadium Deposits in the Colorado Plateau Relative to Tertiary Intrusive Masses

Description: Introduction: Studies of uranium-vanadium occurrences in the Four Corners region show that, with the exception of the Lukachuai area, all of the major deposits in the Morrison formation are grouped around the various igneous masses which are scattered irregularly throughout the Colorado Plateau. The pattern of deposition varies from mountain group to mountain group and each will be described separately. Maps accompany this report to supplement the descriptions of ore occurrences in the vicinity… more

Uranium Deposits of the Grants, New Mexico Mineral Belt (2)

Description: From preface: The report which follows is the second phase of a DOE contract designed to address various aspects of the genesis of the uranium deposits of the Grants mineral.belt. Many of the problems outlined in Phase 1 of this study (Brookins, 1976a) have been answered, others have been raised.

Preliminary Study of Favorability for Uranium of the Sangre de Cristo Formation in the Las Vegas Basin, Northeastern New Mexico

Description: This report presents the results of a preliminary study of the uranium favorability of the Sangre de Cristo Formation (Pennsylvanian-Permian) in the Las Vegas basin, northeastern New Mexico. Because known uranium deposits are confined mainly to the Sangre de Cristo, the following discussions are limited to this formation. The study focuses on sedimentologic and stratigraphic characteristics relevant to uranium deposition. The investigation was conducted by Bendix Field Engineering Corporation (… more

Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Reconnaissance Survey of Portions of Arizona -- New Mexico: Final Report, Volume 1. Instrumentation and Methods

Description: From introduction: Major objectives of the National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) program, sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE), are to develop an authoritative, comprehensive assessment of the nation's uranium resources and to provide industry with data and technology useful for the timely discovery and exploitation of uranium ores (ERDA, 1976). The National Aerial Radiometric Reconnaissance Survey is a major element of the NURE program.

Geologic Investigation: An Update of Subsurface Geology on Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.

Description: The objective of this investigation was to generate a revised geologic model of Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) incorporating the geological and geophysical data produced since the Site-Wide Hydrogeologic Characterization Project (SWHC) of 1994 and 1995. Although this report has certain stand-alone characteristics, it is intended to complement the previous work and to serve as a status report as of late 2002. In the eastern portion of KAFB (Lurance Canyon and the Hubbell bench), of primary inter… more
