Uranium-Bearing Copper Deposits Near Guadalupita, Mora County, New Mexico

Description: Abstract: Dark shale and arkosic sandstone south of Guadalupita, Mora County, New Mexico, contain as much as 4 percent copper and 0. 01 percent uranium on the basis of a few samples recently analyzed. The deposits occur primarily in the dark shale which is about 5 feet thick and dips about 900. Potential reserves of this material are very large.
