Geological Survey in the Yellow Cat area from October 9, 1951, to May 22, 1952. The Yellow Cat area is about 10 miles southeast of Thompsons, Grand County, Utah. Criteria for Outlining Areas Favorable for Uranium Deposits in Parts of Colorado and Utah

Description: Abstract: Most of the uranium deposits in the Uravan and Gateway mining districts are in the persistent upper sandstone stratum of the Salt Wash member of the Morrison formation. Areas in which this stratum is predominantly lenticular have been differentiated from areas in which the stratum is predominantly nonlenticular. Reconnaissance of the Lower Chinle Along the Colorado River Between the Moab and Dewey Bridges, Grand County, Utah

Description: Abstract: The sandstones and conglomerates contained in the Shinarump conglomerate stratigraphic level in the area along Colorado River between the Moab and Dewey bridges have been assigned to the lower Chinle. One small anomaly was located, but no favorable radioactive areas were found. Gray-green mudstone and siltstone zones and carbonated material are absent.
