Description: Paris . Rés. Vmd. Ms. 27, known as Tl.1, or the Thibault Manuscript, is one of the earliest extant sources of lute music, containing twenty-four solos and eighty-six accompaniments for vocal compositions. The manuscript was copied in Italian lute tablature lacking rhythm signs, which makes it inaccessible for modern performance. Direct measurement of the W boson decay width in proton-antiproton collisions at s**(1/2) = 1.96-TeV

Description: This dissertation describes a direct measurement of the W boson total decay width, {Lambda}{sub W}, using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The measurement uses an integrated luminosity of 177.3 pb{sup -1} data, collected during the 2002-2003 run. The width is determined from the shape of the transverse mass distribution, M{sub T}, by fitting the data in the tail region 100 < M{sub T} < 200 GeV. The result if {Lambda}{sub W} = 2.011 {+-} 0.093(stat) {+-} 0.107(syst) GeV.

Measurement of the t anti-t production cross-section at s**(1/2) = 1.96-TeV using lifetime tagging

Description: A measurement of the t{bar t} production cross section in the lepton+jets channels with the D0 detector at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV using the lifetime-tagging techniques is presented. The t{bar t} cross section is estimated from the combination of the e+jets and {mu}+jets channels. The obtained result {sigma}{sub t{bar t}} = 7.47{sub -1.14}{sup +1.22}(stat){sub -1.03}{sup +1.65}(syst) {+-} 0.49(lumi) pb is consistent with the Standard Model expectation.

Search for Gauge Mediated SUSY Breaking in Diphoton Events in proton anti-proton Collisions at s**(1/2) = 1.96-TeV

Description: The authors present the results of a search for anomalous production of diphoton events with large missing transverse energy using the Collider Detector at Fermilab. Measurement of the t anti-t Cross-Section Using the Dimuon Channel in p anti-p Collisions at s**(1/2) = 1.96-TeV

Description: The author has measured the t{bar t} production cross section at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV using data collected by the D0 experiment at Fermilab. The integrated luminosity of the data set is 140 pb{sup -1} and a total of four candidate events are seen, with an expected background of 2.61 events. The measured cross section of {sigma}{sub t{bar t}} = 11.1{sub -9.3}{sup +22.1}(stat.){sub -4.5}{sup +4.3}(sys.) pb is in agreement with a NNLO calculation of 6.77 pb.

Tests of Enhanced Leading Order QCD in W Boson plus Jet Production in 1.96-TeV Proton-Antiproton Collisions
