Sociology Faculty in Texas Public Community Colleges: An Exploration in the Sociology of Teaching

Description: The research problem was to develop a comprehensive, descriptive profile on full-time sociology faculty employed by public community colleges in the State of Texas in terms of demographic characteristics, academic and professional preparation, and teaching and other professional practices. Description: This study investigated factors reported by graduate students which influenced them to pursue a graduate degree in Adult and Continuing Education. A survey instrument was developed by three primary methods: (1) review of literature, (2) recommendations of former graduate students, and (3) recommendations of a panel of experts.
