The accumulated earnings tax: an empirical analysis of the Tax Court's implementation of Congressional intent

Description: Taxpayers have traditionally assessed personal vulnerability to particular taxes through a study of past litigated cases. One of the premises of the study was that useful information concerning the enforcement of the accumulated earnings tax could be obtained through a statistical analysis of such cases.

The cycloaddition of ketenes and silyl enol ethers

Description: The (2+2) cycloaddition of ketenes and trimethylsilyl enol ethers was found to proceed in good yield to give trimethylsiloxycyclobutanones of unique and interesting regiochemistry and stereochemistry. As electron-rich activated olefins, the trimethylsilyl enol ethers readily reacted with the electron-deficient ketenes.

Critical incident-forced choice merit ratings as applied to professional workers using an aerospace engineering department as a data source

Description: The objective of this investigation is to begin to develop an understandable, reasonably valid, and objective merit rating system for professional workers. It is recognized that all conventional merit systems have significant shortcomings. Therefore, by using a results-oriented approach which combines the best features of the critical incident technique with those of the forced choice method, it is hoped to accomplish this goal.

The efficacy of self-administered systematic desensitization

Description: The purpose of this study was to test the therapeutic usefulness of a completely self-administered, behavior-therapy technique: systematic desensitization. The method involved the comparison of behavior change following the treatment of two groups of subjects. One group received the actual systematic-desensitization procedure, while the other underwent a similar but theoretically ineffective treatment termed attention-placebo.

Description: The problem with which this investigation is concerned is to determine the effect of a recent substantial salary increase upon job satisfaction and job performance of Texas teachers. Fear response of rape victims

A study of four methods of computing analysis of variance on a two-way design fixed-model with disproportionate cell frequencies

Description: This study sought to determine the effect of varying degrees of disproportionality of four methods of handling disproportionality cell frequencies in two-way analysis of variance. A Monte Carlo simulation procedure was employed. Two multiple linear regression techniques and two "approximate" techniques were compared.
