Cooperative bi-exponential decay of dye emission coupled via plasmons

Description: This article demonstrates that the relaxation in the sub-radiant system leads to the population of the sub-radiant states by dephasing the super-radiant Dicke states giving rise to the bi-exponential decay in agreement with the experiments.

Topological View of Flows Inside the BOLD Spontaneous Activity of the Human Brain

Description: Article describes study which found that persistent, recurring blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) signals in triangulated rs-fMRI videoframes display previously undetected topological findings, i.e., vortex structures that cover brain activated regions.

Electrodynamics of superlattices with ultra-thin metal layers: quantum Landau damping and band gaps with nonzero density of states

Description: This article develops a theory of electromagnetic transmission through dielectric-metal superlattices with ultra-thin metal films, in which electron motion in the direction perpendicular to the metal surfaces is quantized.

Automated Approach to In Vitro Image-Guided Photothermal Therapy with Top-Down and Bottom-Up-Synthesized Graphene Quantum Dots

Description: Article discusses how, based on recent studies, graphene quantum dots (GQDs) are expected to possess advantageous photothermal properties and facilitate fluorescence image-tracking in the visible and near-infrared (NIR), while surpassing other graphene-based materials in their biocompatibility. The combination of the photothermal and imaging modalities tested in vitro makes the GQDs developed in this work prospective agents for cancer theragnostics.
