Description: Handwritten notes and transcriptions of narratives and conversations about Akha spirits, the origin of lightning, and rivers on Akha migration routes. Notes are based on recordings of a phima (one who transmits and recites ritual texts), a phima apprentice, an adult male speaker, and a 4 year old child. These notes were written in Lampang in preparation for fieldwork and later checked with another speaker whose comments are included in green ink.
