Description: On April 23, 2010, Arizona enacted S.B. 1070, which is designed to discourage and deter the entry or presence of aliens who lack lawful status under federal immigration law. This report discusses this piece of legislation and some of the notable preemption issues raised by its provisions. Geology of Horse Mesa, Arizona - New Mexico, with Recommendations for Wagon Drilling

Description: Abstract: Horse Mesa is in the Navajo Indian Reservation directly on the Arizona-New Mexico state line. Uranium-vanadium deposits in the Salt Wash sandstone which caps the Mesa are fairly widespread and small tonngges have been shipped from two mines. The deposits lie 60 to 75 feet above the base of the Salt Wash formation and possibly trend northwest parallel to ore trends on King Tutt Mesa, a mile northeast. Preliminary Reconnaissance Work in the Rattlesnake Area, Apache County, Arizona

Description: From introduction: The Bluff-Salt Wash contact was mapped on aerial photographs. Mines and prospects were also plotted on the photos. The mines and prospects were studied and a brief description of the mineralization and its occurrence was written. These field notes, which will be given to Hatfield and party, contain data on the presence of carbon and fossil logs, lithology of the gangue rock, sedimentary structures, etc. Regional structure and evidence for igneous activity were also noted.

Description: Abstract: A low-level airborne radiometric survey of the younger pre-Cambrian Dripping Spring quartzite, undertaken in the mountainous region lying roughly 100 riles east of Phoenix, was completed June 3, 1955. Summary Geologic Report on Drilling in Western Prescott and Williams Quadrangles: Mohave, Yavapai, and Yuma Counties, Arizona

Description: From abstract: This drilling project in northwestern Arizona consisted of 18 holes drilled to depths ranging from 1,341 to 5,491 feet (409 to 1,673 meters). The holes were sited to determine the lateral extent of the uranium-bearing, paludal/lacustrine strata of the Anderson Mine in Date Creek basin and to obtain additional data to improve the resource estimates for the Date Creek and Big Sandy basins.
