An Investigation of Group and One-Person Exhibitions

Description: The primary purpose of this investigation was to acquire information about the fundamentals of participating in group and one-person shows. The assumption was made that upon acquiring this basic information an understanding of the intricacies of the larger exhibition procedure could be attained. I proposed to investigate aspects important to the production, selection, and installation of my work in a formal gallery setting.

Hope For Change

Description: Work of art in ceramic sculpture, wood and bronze by artist Amy Wachal as part of a 2019 MFA Exhibition, entitled "Angelfish Prayers". The Sea Otter was hunted to near extinction in the 19th century. Now, thanks to their protected status under the Endangered Species Act & Marine Mammal Protection Act, sea otters are making a comeback in California, Washington, and Alaska. Proof that when people come together and fight for change, there is hope.

An Exploration of the Containment of Personal Relationships

Description: Inborn in all of us is the need to secure those possessions we feel are precious. The purpose of this problem was to take a step beyond the container for valuable possessions and create containers designed to safely protect feelings and memories, specifically my feelings and memories regarding my personal relationships.
