The Writing, Production, and Direction of an Original Readers Theatre Script "A toast to gods"

Description: It was the purpose of this thesis to write an original script especially designed for Readers Theatre and to direct and produce that script for public performance. The thesis consists of an introduction which includes background material, a review of the literature concerning Readers Theatre, and the problems of writing an original script. The thesis includes the script as well as an evaluation of the attendant problems concerning the direction and production.

The Rise of the Nazi Party as a Rhetorical Movement, 1919-1933

Description: This interpretative study attempts to ascertain why the Nazi movement gained the support of German voters by examining its persuasive strategies. The growth of the movement was divided into three periods. In each period, the verbal and non-verbal rhetorical strategies were explored. A Descriptive Study of Value Systems Within the National Guard

Description: The purpose of this study was to determine the various values that may be contaminating the military's communication and to describe the predominant levels of psychological existence. Harry S. Truman: An Examination and Evaluation of His Use of Ethical Appeal in Selected Speeches from the 1948 Presidential Campaign

Description: The study begins with an overview of the 1948 political situation, followed by the evaluation of Truman's use of ethical appeal using criteria developed by Thonssen, Baird, and Braden. Each of their three constituents of ethical appeal--character, sagacity, and good will--is applied to four speeches. A Weaverian Study of President Ford's Efforts to Sell His Energy Package

Description: This study analyzed President Gerald Ford's efforts in selling his energy package in February, 1975. Six major speeches and news conferences were examined in terms of Richard Weaver's rhetorical theory.
