Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Reconnaissance Survey of Portions of Arizona -- New Mexico: Final Report, Volume 1. Instrumentation and Methods

Description: From introduction: Major objectives of the National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) program, sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE), are to develop an authoritative, comprehensive assessment of the nation's uranium resources and to provide industry with data and technology useful for the timely discovery and exploitation of uranium ores (ERDA, 1976). The National Aerial Radiometric Reconnaissance Survey is a major element of the NURE program.

Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Survey of the Brownfield National Topographic Map, NI 13-9, Texas and New Mexico

Description: From introduction: Geodata International, Incorporated, conducted an airborne gamma ray and total magnetic field survey which covered a region of North Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The specific area of this report as outlined on Figure 1 was surveyed from an aircraft using large-volume radiation detectors with computer-controlled airborne equipment. Each map line was flown in an east-west direction with an average length of 120 miles and each tie line was flown in a north-south direction wit… more

Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Survey of the Clovis National Topographic Map, NI 13-6, Texas and New Mexico: Volume 1

Description: From objective and plan: The airborne data gathered were reduced using ground-based computer facilities to give the basic uranium, thorium and potassium equivalent gamma radiation intensities, ratios of these intensities, aircraft altitude above the earth's surface, total gamma ray and earth's magnetic field intensity, correlated as a function of geologic units indicated from available geologic maps. Results of analyses of these field data are presented as profile plots of the gamma radiation a… more

The Distribution of Uranium-Vanadium Deposits in the Colorado Plateau Relative to Tertiary Intrusive Masses

Description: Introduction: Studies of uranium-vanadium occurrences in the Four Corners region show that, with the exception of the Lukachuai area, all of the major deposits in the Morrison formation are grouped around the various igneous masses which are scattered irregularly throughout the Colorado Plateau. The pattern of deposition varies from mountain group to mountain group and each will be described separately. Maps accompany this report to supplement the descriptions of ore occurrences in the vicinity… more
