Research has been carried out in two broad areas, nonlinear saturation of instabilities in collisionless plasma and incorporation of important physical phenomena into linear stability theories appropriate to Tokamaks. The nonlinear work has established a general technique for dealing with the singular functions which arise and is now applied to the collisionless drift, the dissipative trapped electron in linear geometry and the drift cyclotron loss cone.
