Acceleration of Amide Bond Rotation by Encapsulation in the Hydrophobic Interior of a Water-Soluble Supramolecular Assembly

Description: The hydrophobic interior cavity of a self-assembled supramolecular assembly exploits the hydrophobic effect for the encapsulation of tertiary amides. Variable temperature 1H NMR experiments reveal that the free energy barrier for rotation around the C-N amide bond is lowered by up to 3.6 kcal/mol upon encapsulation. Activation of Air and Utilities in the National Ignition Facility

Description: Detailed 3-D modeling of the NIF facility is developed to accurately simulate the radiation environment within the NIF. Description: Presidential elections in Afghanistan were held on October 9, 2004, with heavy turnout and minimal violence. Karzai was declared the winner on November 3, 2004 with about 55% of the vote. Description: "The XF-12 airplane was designed by Republic Aviation Corporation to provide the Army Air Forces with a high performance, photo reconnaissance aircraft. Alternatives for sodium-potassium alloy treatment

Description: Sodium-potassium alloy (NaK) is currently treated at the Y-12 Plant by open burning.
